I'm dabbling in a crossover thingy involving Firefly, set after Serenity (the movie). My problem is this: I know I should leave canon alone and let Wash be dead. Does it cheapen the integrity of a crossover to make one of the crossed over fandoms AU? I don't know - in any case, the story will work with canon. But... I'm not sure I want it to :O I miss Wash! What do you think I should do? Keep it all canon and deal with the angst. Or let it go AU and bring our Wash back? Give me your vote.

When people look for stories, they often make it sound like badfic. Maybe it's because it really is badfic, but sometimes it's a good story and they just suck at describing it.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to summarize badly any one (or more!) of my stories and I'll try to guess which it is. You could even pretend you don't remember the pairing or fandom to make it harder to guess.

I've written a new ficlet for my joss100 daddy!Wes set... Which is sort of an AU complement to an old Wes-centric fic I wrote called And Other Poison Devils. I don't usually have my writing betaed anymore (I write so sporadically, I'd drive a beta reader crazy. In fact, I think I actually have.) But this piece is giving me a headache and I really like the idea - not to toot my own horn (jeebus, that sounds dirty! ;) but And Other Poison Devils is one of my personal favorites - so I'd like to have someone else's opinion on it.

Would anyone would be willing and interested in taking a look-see?

I just found out that one of my fics was cited in a thesis written at Bryn Mawr called Reflections on the Modern Folk Process :p My fic (an AU from back in Dark Angel's glory days) is only mentioned for a moment, but how cool is it to find yourself in a thesis paper written for an English Deparment in an entirely different part of the country? :p The author calls fanfiction "reclamation" and basically categorizes it as folklore. She also mentions PBG, Northlight, and Bulletproof - some of my favorite DA authors - not to mention the Inimitable PB, who at one time owned me thanks to fics like If Scheherezade. Read it if you get the chance and inclination (It features Ben - Jensen Ackles's character on DA).

A quick rec for you all tonight: a post-Deathly Hallows, sans epilogue H/D by the brilliant fourth_rose, whose Not In the Hands of Boys will you keep you up all night, anxious to read what you can in one sitting :) I know... because that's what I've just been doing ;p Fantastic, fantastic stuff. Sweeping storylines, well-written characterizations and dialogue to die for. I anxiously await the next update :)

And in the meantime... I decided to do this :p
